SMJY Tech ("we", "us") takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how the HanZi application (the "App") collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Core Principle: Your Learning Stays on Your Device
No account is required to use HanZi. Your lessons, progress, review history and practice strokes are stored only on your device and never uploaded. The only data we receive is an anonymous crash report when the App malfunctions — and you can request its deletion at any time.

1. Information We Collect
Your learning data — courses, progress, review history, mistakes and practice strokes — is processed locally on your device and never transmitted to us. The only information that leaves your device is: 1. Crash reports: anonymous diagnostic logs (error type, device model, app version) sent via a third-party crash-reporting service when the App malfunctions; 2. Purchase information: handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play — we receive only a purchase entitlement signal, not your payment details. We do not require an account and do not collect your name, email, contacts, or any content you write in the App.
2. How We Use Information
We process crash reports solely to: 1. Diagnose and fix malfunctions; 2. Improve the stability of the App. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or build profiles about you.
3. Permissions
The App does not require any sensitive system permissions to provide full functionality — no microphone, camera or location access. If you use an in-app purchase, the purchase dialog is handled by your device's app store.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services to operate: 1. App Store / Google Play: distribution and purchase processing (subject to the respective provider's privacy policy); 2. A crash-reporting service: receives anonymous diagnostic logs when the App malfunctions. These providers process data only on our instructions to deliver the service.
5. Information Protection
Your learning data never leaves your device, so its security is that of your device itself. Crash reports are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with industry-standard safeguards; they contain no name, email or content you entered.
6. Your Rights
You may: 1. Delete all locally stored learning data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing its data; 2. Request access to, correction of, or deletion of any crash report associated with your device by emailing us; 3. Cancel a Premium subscription at any time via your App Store or Google Play account. We will respond to requests within 15 business days.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. Material changes will be announced within the App or on this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
