How to Choose a GLP-1 Tracker App (2026)
Cycle, titration, site rotation, side effects — GLP-1 tracking is not generic health logging. The dimensions that matter, the landscape, and an honest "who is this for".
GLP-1 treatment carries its own tracking rhythm: a weekly injection day, months of dose titration, a site-rotation requirement, and body responses worth writing down. That's not "drink more water" logging. The market for GLP-1 tracker apps has filled in fast — so this guide offers no rankings, just a way to judge which app fits you.
Six Dimensions That Matter
Run any candidate past these six:
Privacy and data ownership. Health data is the most sensitive personal data there is. Where do your injection history, weight curve, and side-effect notes live — only on your device, or inside some company's cloud account? Worth checking explicitly rather than assuming.
Offline usability. Treatment runs for a year or more. No app should ever be unusable for lack of a connection.
Reminders and cycle intelligence. Weekly injections have their own logic: when the next dose is due, whether a missed one can still be taken, which week of the titration schedule you're in. A good app answers these outright instead of leaving you to do date math.
Speed of side-effect logging. Nobody fills out forms while feeling nauseous. A record that takes two or three taps — severity as plain dots, say — is the kind that actually accumulates data.
Export. The data is yours. CSV export means your history follows you when you switch tools, show your doctor, or run your own analysis.
Cost model and language. Subscription versus one-time, and whether the app speaks your language, are real constraints over a year of use.
The Landscape
By starting point, tools fall into roughly three groups:
General health journals and nutrition apps. A food-first log like MyFitnessPal is already on many phones and excellent at what it does — but the weekly cycle, site rotation, and titration schedule of GLP-1 treatment are things you'd have to bolt on yourself. If you already live in a big health ecosystem, it may be enough.
Pharmaceutical support programs. Manufacturer-backed apps and programs usually orbit their own drug's prescription and fulfillment pipeline — useful when you're enrolled in a specific patient-support flow.
Dedicated GLP-1 trackers. The densest category, built around exactly the rhythm described above:
- Shotsy GLP-1 Tracker: described on its store page as an all-in-one GLP-1 medication tracker covering a long list of injectable and oral medications, focused on dose logging and staying on schedule.
- MeAgain: tracks the doses and "everything in between" — side effects, protein and water goals, appetite changes, in one place.
- Ozzy: the minimalist route — log your injection in seconds, watch the weight trend — deliberately skipping noisy feeds and AI scanners.
Our own DoseLog lives in this category too, with a single-line differentiator: on-device. No account, no backend, and the app itself makes no network requests — an injection cycle calendar, side effects logged as three plain severity dots, supply tracking, CSV export, bilingual English/Chinese. Privacy for health records shouldn't be a premium feature. DoseLog is coming to the App Store and Google Play.
For the details behind the rhythm: injection site rotation, what's worth logging, and logging side effects.
Who Is This For
The honest conclusions, no ranking:
- Don't want another app → the six-column paper template in our logging guide lasts a year.
- Already in a big health ecosystem → a general journal is fine; add a rotation table.
- Want reminders and care about privacy → the dedicated-tracker category; if "data never leaves the device" matters to you, DoseLog was built for exactly that.
- Enrolled in a manufacturer support program → support-program apps earn their place; a tracker doesn't compete with one.
