Cook Today — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SMJY Tech ("we", "us") handles information in the Cook Today mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to being transparent and to collecting as little information as possible.
Cook Today is a fully offline app
Cook Today does not require an account and does not ask you for personal data. Your meal plan, the recipes you browse, your shopping list and your settings are stored locally on your device. They never leave your device. We do not operate a server for user content and we cannot read what you plan, cook or buy.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. Information we collect
Local data (stored only on your device). The App stores your questionnaire answers, generated meal plans, favourites, shopping list and preferences in the device's local storage. This data is never sent to us or to any server. Anonymous usage statistics. To understand which features are useful and to improve the App, we use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated information — for example, how often a plan is generated or which screens are opened. This information is statistical only: it is not linked to your identity, does not include personal identifiers, and never includes the contents of your meal plan, recipes or shopping list. Purchases. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store or process your payment card or Apple account details.
3. How and why we use information
We use the anonymous, aggregated statistics described above for a single purpose: to measure how the App is used so we can improve it (legitimate interest). We do not use this information to build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share it with advertisers.
4. Third parties and international transfers
Firebase Analytics is provided by Google, which may process the anonymous statistics in the United States or other countries. Google acts as an independent controller for this processing and offers safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers out of the European Economic Area. Apple processes subscription payments and may collect diagnostics as part of the App Store, under Apple's own privacy policy. We do not share your information with any other third party.
5. How long we keep information
Local data stays on your device until you uninstall the App, which deletes it completely. Anonymous, aggregated analytics is retained by Firebase/Google according to their own retention policies.
6. Your rights and how to exercise them
Because the App stores your data locally and collects only anonymous statistics, in most cases you control your data directly: uninstalling the App erases all of your local information, and you can turn off anonymous analytics at any time from the App's settings (Settings → disable analytics). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. 7. Children's privacy
The App is a general-purpose meal planner and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Security
We protect information commensurate with its sensitivity. Because your data lives on your device and what we collect is anonymous and aggregated, the risks are inherently limited. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure.
