The gift money ledger

Who gave what, what you owe — on one page

Weddings, full-month feasts, birthdays, housewarmings: whenever cash gifts change hands, note it once and never wonder again. Return suggestions are transparent math, so you can give back with confidence.

Built so you never guess a return again

Every design decision points at one thing: keep the ledger clear, and make every return defensible.

An entry in seconds

Pick the direction (received or given), the amount, the person and the occasion. Lucky-amount shortcuts, instant thousand separators, and a duplicate guard that double-checks when the same person already gave the same amount today. Save and keep going — one entry after another.

Know who you owe

Every relationship gets a running balance: return due, all even, or over-given — grouped exactly that way. The home screen answers the only question that matters: who you owe most, and how much.

Return suggestions, transparent math

Not a horoscope: never lower than their top single gift, covering the balance, rounded up to a fair amount. Once you're all even, it becomes the reference for your next gift. One tap to fill in.

Lucky amounts & countdowns

666 / 888 / 999 / 1,314 one-tap shortcuts; event cards carry a countdown so you know if it's today or N days away.

Twelve months at a glance

Received and given as paired bars, current month emphasized, peaks annotated. Look back over the whole year.

Export & backup

CSV for spreadsheets, JSON backup you can restore anytime. Your data stays in your hands, not ours.

Fully offline. Your data never leaves your device.

A gift ledger is among the most personal data you own. The app needs no account and never asks for personal data — your ledger, people, events and settings live entirely in your device's local storage and never leave your phone.

We operate no server for user content and embed no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting component, so we cannot read a single entry you note.

Local only

Everything lives in the device's local storage. Uninstalling erases it completely.

No analytics, no tracking

No analytics, advertising or crash-reporting component; zero third-party tracking SDKs.

Export is yours to trigger

CSV / JSON export is a local action you start; where it goes is decided by your share sheet.

FAQ

Is my ledger uploaded to a server?

Never. The app is fully offline — no account, no backend, no network requests. All data stays in your device's local storage.

What happens when I change phones?

Export a backup (JSON) on the old phone, move the file over, and restore it on the new one — a full replacement, entry for entry. You can also export CSV to view in a spreadsheet.

How is the return suggestion calculated?

Transparent math: never lower than what they have net-given you overall, never lower than their top single gift, rounded up to a fair amount (lucky numbers optional). Once even, it becomes the reference for your next gift.

Is it suitable for solemn occasions like funerals?

Yes. Condolence events use a plain, color-free marker, and the UI holds back festive elements; negative amounts are always ink-colored — alert red is reserved for 'return due'.

Which languages are supported?

19 languages out of the box, following your device by default, including Traditional Chinese and RTL Arabic. Even the app name is localized (Gift & Return / Gegengabe / お返し帳…).
