Yomu — Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SMJY Tech ("we", "us") handles information in the Yomu mobile application ("the App"). Short version: the App works offline, has no account, no ads and no purchases; the books and comics you import stay on your device; and the only data we receive is anonymous crash diagnostics.
Your library never leaves your device
Yomu does not require an account and does not ask you for personal data. The books, comics and PDFs you import, your reading progress, highlights and notes are stored locally on your device and never leave it. We do not operate a server for user content, so we could not read your library even if we wanted to.
1. Who is responsible
SMJY Tech is the developer of the App and the contact point for anything related to this policy. If you have any question about your privacy or this policy, write to us at tzhh0617@gmail.com.
2. Information we handle
Local data (stored only on your device). The App stores your imported files (TXT, EPUB, CBZ/ZIP, PDF), reading progress, chapter positions, highlights, notes and anonymous reading-time statistics in the device's local storage. This data is never sent to us or to any server. Anonymous crash diagnostics. To find and fix defects, we use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports — stack traces and device-class information (model, OS version, app version) — together with a pseudonymous installation identifier. Crash reports never include the contents of your books or your notes. No other data. The App shows no advertising, contains no in-app purchases, and performs no analytics tracking.
3. How information is used
Local data is used only by the App on your device to provide the reading experience. Crash diagnostics are used solely to reproduce and fix defects, and are never used to identify you or to build a profile.
4. Sharing
We do not sell or share personal data. Crash reports are processed by Google LLC as part of Firebase Crashlytics under Google's terms; no other third party receives data from the App.
5. Retention and deletion
Local data lives on your device until you delete the App or remove books inside the App; deleting a book also deletes its progress, highlights and notes. Crash reports are retained by Firebase for the standard diagnostic window and contain no personal identifiers.
6. Children
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because no personal information is collected at all.
7. Changes to this policy
If the App's data handling ever changes (for example, if we introduce an opt-in sync service), we will update this policy and the app-store data disclosures in the same release, and show the new effective date here.
