BiteBack — Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Shanghai Shoumeng Jiaye Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us") handles information in the BiteBack mobile application ("the App"). Short version: the App works fully offline. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Your craving sessions, streaks, achievements, custom reasons and settings never leave your device, and we receive no data from the App at all.

Nothing leaves your device

BiteBack requires no account and collects no personal data. Every session record, statistic, achievement, custom reason and setting is stored in a local database on your device and is never transmitted anywhere — we operate no server, so we could not read your data even if we wanted to. Exports (CSV) and backups (JSON) are created only when you explicitly ask, as files you own and share through your device's share sheet. The daily reminder is a standard local notification scheduled on your device.

1. Data we collect

None. The App contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, no crash-reporting service and no remote endpoints. It does not send, sell or share any information with us or with any third party, because no information ever leaves your device.

2. Data storage on your device

All content you create in the App — SOS breathing sessions, win/slip records, intensity ratings, notes, streaks, achievements, your custom reasons and your preferences (language, tone, reminder time, haptics) — lives in a local database on your device. Deleting the App deletes this data permanently. You can export it at any time as CSV or back it up as a JSON file from the Settings page.

3. Device permissions

The App asks for notification permission only if you choose to enable the daily check-in reminder. This permission is optional; declining it does not limit any feature. The reminder is scheduled locally on your device — no push service is involved.

4. Children

The App is a general wellness tool intended for a general audience. Because it collects no data at all, it does not knowingly collect any information from children.

5. Health disclaimer

The App offers general wellness information and habit-tracking tools. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified health professional about eating concerns or before changing your diet.

6. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the App ever adds any network capability (for example, opt-in crash reporting), we will update this policy, update the store listings at the same time, and release the change in a new version that makes the disclosure visible before any data is sent.
